A comment from bf sparked my thoughts… On why I am not close to my cousins... It is not about blaming or not being sociable or being ostracized. I guess we just didn’t click or maybe different frequency. Actually, it will be incorrect to say that we didn’t spend time together because when we were young, we actually meet quite frequently, like fortnightly at least. So it makes me wonder too. I guess I am more comfortable to be not talking, as alwaysm and sticking to the aunties and mum more than my cousins.
I guess I am weird after all. Hurr hurr….

As I am reading everybody’s facebook posts and blogs, I think it will be nice for me to reflect on what has happened in 2011.
In the first 3 months, I was still getting over my past relationship. The turmoil that I had to go through was horrendous… Crying until 4am every day and questioning my worth and what I have done wrong.
In the next month, I got together with someone whom I thought will be suitable for me. However, things did not work out because we have too much differences and the awkwardness between us pushed me to make the cut. I had really wanted it to work.... but it’s really just too hard.
In the next month, I got together with someone else again….. unexpectedly. It was totally unplanned for but I guess the chemistry between us made the situation a lot less awkward. Even though I knew him for a really really short time before we got together, everything worked…. magically. We communicated a lot…. Talking about our expectations, our pasts, our goals…. And I have to say… we have a lot in common in terms of our outlook.
Being in this relationship made me suddenly realized that when one person is really in love with another, they will always include their partner in everything they do. It’s not to show that they are attached or just to have someone as a companion (so that they won’t be bored). It is the urge to share everything they are going through with someone they love and wanting them to be part of the joy. I really enjoyed joining his friends to chill and do activities and I believe he did enjoy spending time with my friends as well. I also really appreciate the fact that he is willing to make the effort to communicate with my family and really glad that his family invites me over for dinner celebrations too! Of course, we both have to deal with issues that cropped out once in a while.
Another important event that happened to me was the change of job. It was really tough to make the cut as I was getting really comfortable with the company and sort of the “senior” (due to the amazingly high turnover rate of the company). But I decided to move on… as I think I am a believer that one cannot be too comfortable with the company and I really need to fast track my career. So far, I have started new things again and I have made a promise to myself to be able to show my competency so that more projects can be delegated to myself. We shall see whether I am able to achieve this goal by the end of this year.

It's weird when I am advising another, knowing exactly how she thinks, knowing exactly what is the outcome and knowing what is the logical thing to do to resolve the situation and Yet, I am caught in the same situation with her, unable to move on completely with my life.

I guess it's like a turtle who has broken free after getting caught in the net. You know exactly how horrible it felt to be caught in the net, you went through hell and nearly drowned when struggling to break free. You felt the sense of relief when you broken free, swearing to yourself that you will never ever go near the net.

You will be enjoying your life thoroughly, exploring the new things on the other side of the net, trying out new adventures. But one day, without warning, you saw the fishes that you dreamt of eating and memories of swimming at the other side of the net. The worse thing is that you no longer feel that the net is so taunting anymore.

This is what I call stupidity. Thorough stupidity.......

There are times in your life that you feel uncertain, worried and not knowing which direction you should be heading. There isn't any reason why it happened or you are simply unaware of it.

Maybe I have taken things for granted, maybe i thought that by keeping myself busy will help me get over all these uncertainties. But when I sit alone, trying to figure out the question of "What next?", I find myself in a situation where there are no answers to my question. I start to think hard of what it is, start to reflect what have I done in the past to get me through my life. I am fearful, with each step of my life and every stepping stones looking a little shaky, I tread carefully, fearing that one day I might fall into a deep waters that surround the stones. When I look back, there are points in my life where I thought to myself "I could have done better, I should have.... I could have...." My life is constantly surrounded by thoughts like this which makes feel nervous whenever I make the next decision.

It sucks to know that nobody can help in this situation and I guess my life will continue to be like on a balancing beam.

Managed to get my dad's car for a day as my parents went to kukup. =D

It was quite an experience as I needed to do U turn quite a lot of times >_< but managed to get to workplace in the end. Unfortunately, I had to be drive in the rain without my parents beside me. It is rather stressful but the only comfort is that all the drivers around me is driving safely so there wasn't any surprises for the drive.

I also realised that getting a car is super expensive and I won't be getting one in the near future. Parking is already killing me in one day. =(

I am also starting to attend the course in NYP. Met someone from NUS so it is really fortunate!!!!! HAHAHAHA...... it's good to be back to school and I am glad that I feel this way (in case I still have dreams to do my masters). Hopefully, this will be sustainable throughout the whole course. Muahahhaa.....

As my contract passed the half year mark, everybody is asking me to find another job already. I am always reluctant to do such stuff because I find it a hassle to look for jobs. I am quite sure that I won't get a higher position if I stayed on and I do ask myself whether I want to remain in this position and the answer is obvious. Not that I want to be unloyal that but it really doesn't make sense for me to stay on and I should seriously let others have the opportunity >_<. Need to tidy up my CV and start to do searches on those search engines and major related companies. Hopefully I can find a boss like the current one... I really like the environment in the current company and I think I won't be so lucky next time round.

Maybe planning for an overseas trip (again!) but I do wonder which are the places that I want to go man. Anyway, it will be Europe (it's as if I can get so much money to do another trip). I will plan out the budget and see how everything goes. On a side note, I realised that I am quite hesitant in going to South-East countries like Vietnam and Thailand (can you believe it?!!). I don't know why but I am really worried about the language barrier (not that I can speak German or Italian in any case). So many things to do yet have so little amount of cash at hand. ARGH.......

I think my stress level has gone up again because all the students I teach are going through either 'O', 'N', PSLE or streaming.

Sometimes, I feel that i am more stressed than them.... HAHAHA.....

Really thinking very hard on how to help them through one of the many hurdles in their lives but nothing seems to work out everytime. hahaha.....

Found mozarella cheese (authentic soft ones) and chocolate from Dove. Sasa if gonna be so excited.... I think I should give her a surprise someday by bringing the two items when I stay over at her house. heehee.....

While I was logging to use my blogsite as the link to other blogs, I realised the template I was using can't be used anymore... Oh well..... I shall just stick with the standard template that I have.

Just an update where I am not doing much..... Same old job, same old tuition..... everything is pretty much the same.... Erms..... maybe except my weight.... the pantry has such good snacks that I keep going to pantry to get some hot milk tea from lipton and some jap sesame snack..... really have to watch it for now man!!!

Oh ya....Yesterday had a really bad gastric though.... It's the first time in my life where I felt my limbs go soft and even feel like vomitting. Sad enough, have to leave the gathering first and didn't have my cheesecake. I think I should have some food in my bag just in case this happens again. (even though it conflicts the previous paragraph)

May be having a bbq soon.... Hopefully, it will materialise.... hahaha.... It's still in the planning stages though.... I am pretty excited actually. heehee.... :P

Virgin Drive:

I have decided to blog my virgin drive today. Was driving mum and dad to sembawang today and when I started reversing from the parking lot, I reversed too earlY and nearly hit the car beside me!! Fortunately, I was going at a very slow speed and managed to stop in time. :) I realised that I always turned too late. :P

First vertical parking was quite alright, definitely above my expectation. The route to Bishan (tuition) was also smooth.

Also drove in the afternoon for lunch and there was a little hiccup as a motorbike was quite near my car just now. My parents were also a little worried about the speed I am going (being a new driver with 0 day of experience). They felt that it was too fast.. hahaha.... (when I was going at 70km/h 0_o!!!) However, my car slanted when doing the vertical parking at home and my dad helped me correct the slanting problem.

It's quite a stressful but I have fun. Definitely will drive in the future. Hopefully can drive on my own soon~~~ =P

The thing to announce is that I have PASSED my driving test!! hahaha..... Was really a surprise since I heard that normally people don't pass the first time and I am beyond stress!!!! The instructor that taught me before the test ask me to stop sighing and the warm up instructor said the same thing!!

But the tester looks really nice so I had a lot more confidence and didn't do any mejor mistakes. *Heng*

Life can change this fast and I suddenly understand why people called life unpredictable.

It's really upsetting when one is healthy one day and passed on on the other. I really feel the need to live life to the fullest. I pray that my auntie and cousin will find peace and really hope that things will get better for the big family as a whole.
Last year had been a tormenting year for the family and I hope it won't get worse this year.

Sometimes, I feel the need to educate people on how to handle emergency situations even when I do not know much. Each passing moment means life and death in this kind of situation and one must react the right way so that to have a better chance of survival. I felt that something can be done to prevent all this but it was too late.

It seemed unreal but at the end of the day, you would realise that it's not a dream. I cannot imagine how everybody will overcome this in the end.

I really hope it is all but a dream.....

oh my god... it has been nearly one month since I blogged.

Everything is going quite alright..... I have started working in a super low level job but aiya.... I think I will just enjoy the moment of doodling with calendar and uploading pictures. Slacker's job!!! I got so many things to buy lo but insufficient funds to do so.

Tuition is piling up like crazy cause I have like 5 tuitions squeezed into the 2 miserable weekends but two of the students want their June holiday, which is essentially good for me because I can kind of rest for around one month. Cousin is going to join in soon (which makes a total of 6 tuitions!!!) and
something really touching happened:

The mother of one of the students actually messaged me today to thank me for teaching her son as his grade improved quite a lot from the first term. I can sense a tinge of relief from her and I'm really glad that my efforts paid off.

Started drawing anime eyes and I really love what I drew!! I hope that the fire won't dwindle!!!

Reading the assassin's quest by Robin Hobb. I think I found a treasure!!!

Happy Labour Day in advance!!! ( for those who are working/ studying)

Anyways, many decisions were in place for me to make these days and I guess I have made the best decision based on probability.

I always told myself that I should be more realistic in expectations and not think of the impossible. I do feel it is a rare opportunity that would probably not come again but I guess I should just move on. I shall not regret the decision that I make even though I really wanted it but can't have it due to the situation.

I have been taking driving lessons for the past few days and it is progressing at a speed slightly under my expectation. Went up a kerb (shit!) and seriously hope to better negotiate that bend better next time. The instructor asked me how do I differentiate a main road from a side road and I randomly guessed it correctly. Haha.....

The instructor actually asked me to go up to 4th gear on the road, much to my surprise, because it's only my 5th lesson. Certainly hope to get my licence quickly so that I can settle this once and for all. I want to drive up to m'sia as soon as possible!!

I have also been thinking what do I want to do in life. The job applications to labs are not yielding any replies and I am really getting disheartened by it. I am no longer sure whether this is the path that I should to take. With no opportunities in sight, I feel that this might be an indication that I am no longer a suitable candidate for lab work. I'm not sure whether the economy situation actually lowers my opportunity to get a job or is it just not the right time?

I am just glad that I still don't need to ask my parents for assistance with regards to this situation. I should be more optimistic, I should have more confidence.....

Went to meet sasa and friends at her house and it was really very nice to just meet them and have fun drawing!! I seriously don't know how to draw anything that are nice but the ability to just be able to draw is really quite a feeling.

THe most most most important thing is that sasa made a folio for me!!!! It is really damn nice and I really appreciate it a lot!! Thanks girl for making this trip such a great one and hope to meet up soon!!!

Just went to ktv with my mum!!! haha.... It's her first time there and I can really feel her anxiety while singing. There will be more sessions to come (maybe with my dad too). The unagi meal was not too bad although I only ate the unagi and the jap rice~~~ hurr hurr..... (hate the mini octopus and the cai xin looks really dubious!!)

Forgot to buy the cat treat for ah mao! It's getting bigger and rounder each passing day!

Was given a site on how to make skittles vodka and I'm really not sure whether it's nice and whether I should make it!! hahaha..... Thus, I went to search on the net and it would seem to me that it should be quite a sweet drink(which made me think of sasa and jt) + refreshing~

watched underworld yesterday and felt that it is not good. I prefer valkyrie in comparison. i felt the movie was more of a story telling or should I say explanatory movie. so if you are an Underworld fan, then I would recommend that you watch it lo~~~ I am thinking whether I should watch the curious case of benjamin button since I have heard quite abit of raves about it.

Oh ya.... went to eat at an open concept "restaurant" and the moment I sat down, there is a cockroach behind me. Not that I am very bothered by it but I am not sure whether I want to disclose the name of the outlet as it may ruin its reputation. The mushroom soup didn't taste too good (because it tasted like cornstarch soup) but the main course is not too bad ( which made me more reluctant to let you guys know the name of the place). However, if you guys are clean freaks and wants to be forewarn, just ask me. kekeke.....

Nothing much happened for the last weekends despite one being valentine's day and the other my birthday.

But anyways, I met up with dia dia for lunch at hong kong cha chan ting! I had the nissin noodles (I kind of wanted to eat it) and watched valkyrie with her! It was a nice show although it's heartwrenching in the end. Borrowed a book from Mercedes lackey and hope that I would like it!! Also went to Pet's Lover corner (or something like that) to find a suitable toy for ah mao but to no avail~~~

When I come home, my bro asked me what I would like to have as prezzie! I will take time off to think of the prezzie~~~ heehee..... =P

On friday, managed to meet moyar and sasa for a dinner and had quite a nice talk. Went to Mr. Curry at Central to eat and I would have to say that I seriously prefer Curry Favor that's located at stamford house. It's been some time since I went to eat over at Curry Favor.... boohoo....

Oh ya.... I also attended the theory lesson for my driving and it's really damn long lohs!!! I was there from 1300h to 1730. It's been some time since I really had such long "lectures". hahaha.....

Also heard from my mum that one of my cousin died in a car accident. It is definitely not a good start for ox year. Haiz.... I seriously hope that my family can have a better year this ox year as compared to the rat year.

Just finished reading "The Boleyn Inheritance" by Phillipa Gregory. I would think that it's a sequel after "The Other Boleyn" because it talks about the wives that King Henry VIII married after Anne Boleyn, namely Anna of Cleves and Kathy Howard. I prefer the previous book since it is more exciting although I still manage to finish the book. I think I don't really like this book because it portrayed one of the queens as a stupid woman and the other an ugly one, which to me, is totally pointless.

I might be getting "The Constant Princess" to know more about Katherine of Aragon and maybe "The Queen's fool". Sasa is lending me another "bibliography" of King Henry VIII and it may give me some new perspectives on this King that reformed religion in England.

31/01- met up with primary school friends and it was really weird because it has been quite some time since we have met up with each other~~~ It has been more than 10 years since we knew each other and it's really scary when you think about it!!! But it was quite nice to just update one another about what's happening in our lives. I think they are planning for a meet up on july and hopefully more people will turn up! (only 8 turned up this time when there's like 45 people in the class!!!)

01/02- Lots of preparation for the family gathering because my mum was preparing like 7 dishes for 30 over people!! It was really crazy with all the preparation and stuff and I was damn sleepy (slept only like 6 hours cause of the msn reunion with 6D people) haha.... But I'm glad that all went well and I think everybody enjoyed themselves. I love the tahu goreng and still think my mum makes the best tahu goreng ever!!

Damn lazy today because of the overusage of energy yesterday and decided to sleep all the way today. hurr hurr.... more updates later~~~

Yesterday watched casablanca on dvd and I would say that it's quite different from the films that we watched these days. I think it's a movie that's made during WWII and it's in black and white.... I don't really know the details but if you're interested, you can always wiki to find it out. Anyways, in this film, there's a lot of things that are not spelt out directly and it really depends on your observation to catch those tiny details in order to really enjoy the film.

For me, I have to admit that I'm not a really observant person because I don't usually want to use my brain while watching the films and thus have missed out quite a lot of hidden meanings that are underlying in this film. But nevertheless, I managed to finish the film in the end (though I don't like the ending X( ) Oh... By the way, it's a romance story and it has quite a lot of small twists here and there. The most important detail that I must add in is that this film is voted the BEST romantic movie made!

Going to meet michelle for lunch tomorrow (AT LAST!!!) and hopefully there will be lots of chatting and gossips with her!! I still need to meet lydia to pass her her prezzie lor!! (Reminder to oneself to do it!)

Oh ya... finished reading the curious incident of the dog in the night-time and I think it gives a different perspective of human because it is written by a dyslexic person. I think that we never understood how their mind worked because nobody that is dyslexic has written a book or should I say published a book. I think the main reason is the general trend of dyslexic people having a hard time with learning languages as the words seems to be jumping whenever they read. I guess it also happens to the author but one way or another, he managed to write the book. It's an easy read so if you have spare time, go read it!

Feeling ache on my back now. Not sure why but there are two bumps that are on my back and I'm wondering what bit me. Hopefully it's not a spider or something venomous. Hopefully I don't die of this thing. Too many freaky deaths in recent years and it's kind of scary now.

I'm going to miss the chinatown trip with kelvin and all because I just realised that my mum is not making pineapple tarts today. They are only making it on saturday and I think someone won't be too happy when he hears this~~

Since I am so free nowadays, I probably will be the person that updates almost everyday. Anyways, went for a haircut at yishun with my mum yesterday. I didn't change my hairstyle because I want to make it grow longer therefore, I just cut off an inch or two. The cut was pretty fast which made me felt that the 16 bucks spent was not worth it. Nevertheless, I know that I needed a haircut anyways. X)

After which, I went to fuji xerox for an interview for part time project coordinator. However, when I reached there, I realised it was an insurance company and it made me shrink. I really don't want to do insurance related stuff due to the mindset I have of insurance agents. I contemplated for a while whether I should be going but decided to just go ahead with it for experience.

I have never experienced group interviews and this is my first experience. In a way, it is less stressful because there are other people who can speak up if you don't have anything to say. The interviewer commented that I have a nice smile X) hahaha..... and I can either con people/ get conned due to my spectacles. I WANT TO GET CONTACTS!!!! sorry, out of point. Anyways, I don't think I will do it and yea lor.... try to find other jobs. Why is there nobody hiring me? Feel so sad lor..... boohoo.....

Doing cross stitch at the moment to pass time and hopefully get a job soon because I think my parents are a little worried for me. Haiz.....

Yesterday was a relatively busy day because I went to change my address on my IC and Finally went to register for driving lessons and all. Haven't got my PDL because the office was closed and I shall get it done on monday. In exchange for doing the above two activities, I changed my tuition timing today which I overslept. Haiz.... Reason being I didn't know how to use the new phone and the alarm didn't ring in the end. I felt quite bad actually and I shall have tuition only next week.

Anyways, I went to meet lab friends for steamboat and it was really a nice meeting. Get to talk crap with them and seriously overate again. It was not really like cheap because I forgot that it's a saturday. Also passed them the souvenier from paris and seriously hope that they like it.

After which, I went to ktv to sing and found out that the medley by gu ju ji is very interesting. Shall go to youtube to learn how to sing it! It was quite a crazy session and the first session with alex. Enjoyed it alot although I think I keep offtune *OFF*. must work on it man! heehee.....

No jobs on classified today. Sianz.... Should I go into teaching straight or should I be more patient and wait?

oh ya.... forgot about the incident where I was rushing to get my phone cause it's ringing and I knocked into my mum real hard. I felt pretty bad about it because my mum has been complaining of pain after that incident. I already asked her to see a doctor and I can't figure what I can do to make her feel better. Haiz.... Also met up with primary school friend and talked about what happened in the past. I think it was a nice chat and hopefully I get to meet more classmates at cny gathering!! It has been too long since the last gathering and I'm glad that tianz is organising once again!!

Today's program is quite jam packed because I need to go tuition, careerfair, steamboat and ktv! I'm sure to have lots of fun and I think I will be damn tired after that. I'm not sure about whether I want to go to the careerfair actually because I'm sure there will be lots of insurance companies present in the fair and I really hate to be "pestered" by them.

Just came back from clubbing with ivy and sasa and realised that I have grown old because I can't dance as much anymore. I also looked like an auntie carrying a freaking big cotton bag and dancing away with it! the drinks are also real low on alcohol so we weren't close to high when we drank finish the two drinks. Velvet underground was quite boring because we didn't like techno music.

Ivy has become really pretty (she is already very pretty and sweet le) even though she complained that she has a tummy (which I can't see at all lor) Really glad to meet her this time round because we didn't have much meet ups since university and I'm really glad that we both made an effort to meet out. Maybe I should take more initiative next time to meet up with her! Forgot to take pictures! Alamak!!

haven't been blogging alot these days even though i'm very free because there was abit too much things to settle for me. These are some of the list of things that i need to do

just a small update from me (cause i hurt my finger and it's actually quite painful as I am typing this entry cause there's inflammation.

Anyways, just an update for you guys, I went to york and now I'm in manchester! haha....

York is a beautiful place and it's really nice just to walk around the city centre and on the city walls...... It's just so nice that I want to go back the next time I'm in the UK. You've got to see it for yourself because photos don't do it justice. It's just such a peaceful place that I want to spend my retirement there man!

Manchester, on the other hand, is a very industrialised city. In terms of buildings wise, it's can't be compared to york at all and everywhere is shopping malls and more shopping malls. I'm going to the uni of manchester tomorrow and I will find my way to the computer dept! that's where my dad studied and I'm really quite excited about seeing what's there!!!

That's the update for now and really kind of tired so won't be updating the pics until i'm back in sg/ i'm stuck somewhere and had the time to do some computer work. keke....

my grandma passed away on 4th of October. She has struggled with this illness for a very long time and I think she is a strong fighter throughout these 2 years. I just hope that my mum is feeling alright because she is very attached to my grandma.

Everything was normal as we are getting hang of doing the chores that are required of us at the job. We have managed to find a place with free WIFI so that we could all our parents after our work at Premier Inn. I called banedon yesterday and it felt like years that we are apart. I seriously have missed him a lot and hope to be able to call back more often! Didn’t call my parents because they are in Malaysia and I didn’t want to disturb them while they are working. We also managed to cook our dinner successfully without much hassle and problems like having burnt meat or inedible vegetable so I have concluded that we are quite good cooks!

But the only major issue I have with the house is the tenants, especially the bitch that live beside us. I am sorry to have used such a harsh word but I really think that she is a bitch and there is no word to substitute it. We got told off when we accidentally used her cups because we thought that there are from the landlord; she ordered us to do the chores (you think you own the house is it?!!!) and she even tell us to keep the kitchen clean cause she found a strand of hair in the sink. Freaking irritating lor! I mean if you cared so much for such things, go and rent an apartment by yourself rather than cramp in a small place with us. I mean there are things that we understand but I think there should be a certain degree of tolerance between tenants. You don’t freaking own the house and you shouldn’t be ordering us like we are your servants. YOU BITCH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I Hope you go back to the hospital and give us peace. Additionally, the kitchen belongs to all of us and not yours so please exercise tolerance. If you are unhappy, you can jolly well complain to the landlord and get the hell out of this house and get your own house! I will not tolerate such behaviors and shall try my best to get you out of this house for the short period of time that we are staying.

I am just very angry with her behavior and I will grab any opportunities to tell her off.

Besides the irritating tenant, we manage to do our laundry and get our laundry line up. I am actually quite proud that we did it all on our own. I really think that the landlord is nice but I wonder why he didn’t choose his tenants more carefully.

Anyways, I managed to finish “The Other Boleyn Girl” by Phillipa Gregory. It’s a captivating book and I will recommend it. I’m just glad that sasa bought the book and thus we are able to read it. It makes me know what happened to Anne Boleyn in her lifetime and I seriously didn’t know that she is Queen Elizabeth I’s mother. So if guys are interested, do grab the book and read it. Actually, the main character of the book is the sister of Anne Boleyn but the author acknowledged that her main reference is “The rise and fall of Anne Boleyn” so I think the author is trying to do a third person perspective or is it second? Not too sure about this perspective thing but it’s nice. heehee….

From this book, I realized that how fortunate I am as I don’t have a female sibling since I think rivalry between female siblings seems to be very strong from I observed in my workplace. I will definitely be jealous if I have a female sibling who is prettier than me. HAHA>>>>>> I am just glad that I am only being compared to my cousins whom I don’t see very often in the first place.

I may be starting on the half blood prince that had been long due since I didn’t have the urge to get the book two years ago. I hope that I will remember the previous episodes of Harry Potter so that I will know what is happening. Just hope that it will be a good read too~

We went quite early to our workplace the next day because we didn’t want to be late but we ended up waiting for like 1 ½ hours before we start work. Apparently, they only start work at 830 (which dragged to 900) and we reached there at 730 but we figured out that we should leave a good impression at least for the first day. =p

We were introduced to some of the staff like Kam, Debby, Karen and Jenny and they are quite friendly except that we couldn’t really catch what they are saying because they slur A LOT!!!! Anyways, we sticked to Karen for the day of work since another new girl was following Kam.

Housekeeping is actually much more complicated than I thought and I realized that I didn’t have the strength to do all the things. But as a kind reminder to all that is going to live in a hotel, inn, whatever la….. Please remember to wash your cup and spoon before you use them. I don’t want to elaborate since it may be against our policy to tell everybody what is going on but you should get what I mean right. I didn’t really like to wash the bathroom because it was kind of troublesome and we need to check out whether there is hair in the bathtub. I prefer doing vacuuming and making the bed. Same goes to sasa because we expressed the same feelings after we discussed about it.

It was around 2 when we left the Inn and we went to Loroughbrough to get shoes for sasa and bank account as they don’t do direct payment to us. We went into Barclay and the person told us that we needed to prove that we are staying at certain place before we can open an account. But we just moved in two days ago and thus cannot produce and form of letter to show that we lived there. We then went to HSBC and I got my bank account done. It was actually not very good to open an account with HSBC because I wasn’t able to get a debit card for free because Barclays actually offer free debit card. Felt kind of cheated and wanted to close my bank account with HSBC after going through all that.

We then went to buy sasa’s shoes which cost 2 pounds lor! Sasa is exclaiming that this is the cheapest shoes she has ever bought even if we converted to SGD. I can’t get that pair of shoes because my feet are too big =(

We then went to shop for groceries and hangers (need to hang clothes) and we are going to make salad later on. Hopefully everything goes well and we will have a very good meal later! will update later on how dinner went!!! keke….

Back, dinner was filling! Only the eggs were imperfection as we didn’t fully cooked it. I still love my brussel sprouts and think that I prolly will get them more often than I thought of!! the marinated potatoes is very fragrant and I think I might just forget about peeling my own potato in the future! Feeling sleepy but stopping myself from falling asleep since I don’t want to get fat as I think to wear many layers when winter comes.

The clothes didn’t dry at all and we had to bring them back into our room. I figured it might be better if we brought it in our room so that we can have more moisture as it’s very dry out here.

We moved our butts to the rented room early next day and we told Tina (my supervisor) that we would be coming on Monday to start our work. After putting our bags in the room, we went to shop for rags, plastic containers and chicken (for dinner). It went fairly well and we cleaned up the area and started unpacking our things. You will get to see the picture of the amounT of milo we had in our drawer lor! I slept in the afternoon since there was nothing much I can do and read “the other Boleyn”. I am reading this book because Anne Boleyn (Mary Boleyn’s sister) was beheaded in Tower of London and I want to know why is that so (prolly because she said the wrong thing~~~) It was kind of sad when I read this book and actually didn’t feel like reading anymore since I know that Mary (main character) is not going to have a happy ending with King Henry. But I would say that the book is captivating because I read till 100 plus pages that night.

The other tenant is an Indian and he is quite okay except that I can’t really fathom what he is trying to say because of the british accent. We asked about sharing the wifi but apparently, he is too nua to do anything. I really hope that we can go online soon since I want to contact my family and friends!!!!

Nothing much happened actually, just a little worried for Banedon since he didn’t pick up my call when I called him in London and also for the job the next day.

After waking up, we went to Castle Dunnington to find accommodation since it is the nearest VILLAGE. It is really a village because there is only one street that has shops and all the others are houses. It was hard to find rooms to rent because the agents only rent by the apartment/ houses and we figured out that it wasn’t worth the money,

We went back to Premier Inn and acted kind of pitiful so that more help will be given to us and fortunately, one F&B staff offered to bring us to Loroughbrough to look for rooms. She told us that the chances are higher because Loroughbrough is a town (bigger than village) and it is a university town (students coming back to school now) Thus, we headed there to just check things out.

When we reached Loroughbrough, sasa and I knew that this was the place for us because there are more people (we are more used to having people around us) and there are more shops around us (it’s a good way of killing boredom). We went to Cinocafe (Italian café) and had some drinks while sasa and Rachel(F&B staff) start calling landlords. (The hot choco they made are really quite nice, I would say). Anyways, we had two potential places to see since many of them are unwilling to rent to two people or do not want to rent for a short period of time (3 months).

We walked to the first place and waited for 30 minutes before calling it quits since it was rather long and we didn’t want to hang around stoning away. When we were walking to the other house, the landlord called and we met him along the road. He said that he would be dropping by the other house to pick us up (apparently, both landlords know each other and are friends). We went on to go to see the 2nd house and didn’t really like the place. Firstly, the stairways are really narrow, there are 5 people in the house, the kitchen looks dirty, the loft (attic) has poor ventilation and we had to bend our heads to get around. I think the last point is really the reason why I didn’t want the place. After looking around, the other landlord came to fetch us and we were glad that he made a trip down to fetch us because we prefer his room. Reason being it is nice and cosy, we don’t have to bend our heads, it’s not situated beside the main road, the landlord is very nice, there are only two tenants currently and the rent is 80 pounds cheaper. Everything is good about this place and we decided that we shall rent this place immediately.

After handing the money and stuff, we went to get linens, pillows and quilt (very cold lehs) and luckily Rachel brought us around to buy them cheap. It’s about 25 pounds in total and we are happy girls!!! Oh ya…. the other landlord was damn fierce and seriously, I prefer my landlord!! we went back to our room after the purchase and started to get our linens and stuff on our bed. We even tried to vacuum the place but it ended kinda disastrous. HAHA…… We then went back to our room at Premier Inn to get ready to move in the next day.

One more thing, we met one of the tenants and she don’t look friendly. BAHZ………….

I suppose I slept too early last night and woke up like 5 plus in the morning. Since I have not much to do and the sky is still dark, I decided to lay on my bed and stone. Just a while later, the guy that is sleeping above me started snoring and the other man woke up and sweared “F*** you” and I think he can’t go back to sleep after that since he decided to wake up and shower. Another thing that I note is the guy slept naked! I didn’t actually see him naked but he was wearing their boxes and stuff while lying on his bed. I woke up to wash up after sasa woke up since we need to catch a bus to Premier Inn (our working place)

Breakfast was provided so we were eating cereal and bread. Sasa was toasting the bread and suddenly, she realized that the bread is stuck in the toaster. We tried kinda hard to get it out but to no avail and we just left it there =p. It’s kind of bad but we didn’t want to be involved in any sort of trouble. hurr hurr…..

Anyway, we headed to the Victoria Coach station and I think sasa is a little tired since she was trying to catch up with me (her bag was heavier than mine and I felt bad about it actually) Anyway, we got on the bus and travelled to the Derby and the journey took around 4 hours. When we asked the bus driver where we should take our bus from to reach Premier Inn, he gave my friend a “what the hell are you doing here?” look. When I asked her later, she said that the bus driver said that we should have alighted at Leichester because there’s a direct bus from there. Being left stranded on the bus stop, we popped by a tourist centre to ask for more directions. We successful got onto to the bus we wanted and travelled to Premier Inn.

Upon reaching Premier Inn, we were greeted by the receptionist because she was kind of expecting us (not many Asians travel there apparently). We then sat down with the F & B manager and the housekeeping manager and interviewed us (actually it is more like talking than interviewing since there is not much skills involved in housekeeping). We told them that we didn’t have accommodations for the night and they gave us a room for three nights immediately. We are really grateful that they are able to make such arrangements since we were quite lost at that moment on what to do.

We went to our room to put our stuffs and the receptionist actually printed some rooms from rent in Loroughbrough (pronounced as Lufbrurrr) As we didn’t have internet access, we actually wanted to try asking whether they can let us use the net for a while since we needed to contact our family but apparently, they can’t allow that. As the night gets darker, we also became hungry and the F&B staff actually recommended some takeaways from some pizza place and we ordered Hawaiian pizza, garlic bread and some peach and mango drink. It turned out not bad although it was kind of expensive but we figure that we didn’t have much choice since they were expecting us to order rather than let us eat our biscuits in our room!

We turned in the night rather early since we are not used to the time there.

Just arrived in London today!!!! We were actually very excited about it until we saw the queue for the customs! I think there were 70 or more people before me and we had to wait for one hour before it’s our turn. Just when we were relieved about having to reach the counter, the person directed us to the health control department. We were like *^&%&#@#@$#%@ because we had to wait for another hour before we finally pass through the customs. While we were complaining about having to spend like 2 freaking hours before passing the customs, some funny people approach us and ask us funny questions like where are you from, why are you here, which flight did you take, etc…… When we reached the baggage retrieval place, we couldn’t find our baggage since we have been stranded at the customs for 2 hours and decided to approach the customer service. Seriously, I think that they are really kind of racist or should I say that they have the super bo chup tone I have ever heard lor! Anyway, we found our baggage being placed outside the conveyor belt (I think it has been circulating for too long a period of time) and realized that my bag was kinda dirty. I’m just glad that they didn’t attempt to cut my bag up and my straps are still intact.

Anyways, we went to buy the oyster card and boarded the tube (aka mrt) Everything was good. The train didn’t contain dubious figures, no urine or feaces on the floor, seats have cushion and even armrest.
p/s: It is more comfortable than Singapore actually.

We headed to our hostel first before going for the interview since our backpack was rather heavy. Sasa’s one was 16kg and mine 11kg thus we figured we can’t walk much if we carried them along. We got bad news that we can’t check in cause we can only do it after 2pm but LUCKILY, we can deposit our backpack till we check in later.

The interview didn’t go as well as we expected since the first thing the interviewer asked was whether we had experience in the first place and when we answered no, he became kind of reluctant to employ us. Another minus point is that he wants us to run all over the place to get to the venue of the catering place and it’s as if we know how to navigate around lor! He asked us to think about it and get back to him after we have discussed because he even suggested that he might only take sasa since she has experience in serving tea and coffee. I’m thinking “Does it take a full range of training to train me? Maybe they need us to remember tea names like Earl grey and fermented tea and stuff like that…” Anyways, sasa and I discussed and decide to forgo this offer since it’s gonna be very hard to navigate, only one of us might get employed, they don’t provide accommodation and the jobs seems to be a little unsecure since it will be very dependent on what kind of assignments they have.

We then decided to walk around London since we are already out and went to see the map. While trying out to figure where the hell are we, a staff from starbucks offered us a sample of mango+orange drink and seriously, it tastes nice~!!! (we may be a little thirsty to care about how tasty it is. keke) We started our walk to Tower of London and London Bridge since they are located next to each other and I am kind of excited to see the London bridge. What I actually know is that the Tower of London is a place where Queens are executed, princesses were murdered, they make mint (coins) there, there are a lot of traitors being brought in there (they even have a traitor’s gate for it!!!) and they store a lot of jewels inside a room). We didn’t bother to buy tickets and go in because we reached there at like 5 plus and the place looks too huge for us to finish exploring.

We then moved on to the London Bridge and it was painted blue! OMG!!!!!!!!!!! It was kind of gross~~~~ but I figure if they didn’t bother to reconstruct it, the song that we always know will be become  London bridge has fallen down, fallen down ……..

We decided to search for the Monument which commemorates the fire that engulfed London a long time ago and apparently, the structure is so insignificant that we totally missed it. Maybe we would be going back to London in search of the Monument! We then head for the London Eye since there is so much hooha about it. Before heading for our destination, we crossed a millennium bridge that allows only people to walk across it and we saw Tate Modern collection. It was a power station before it was converted into museum and we didn’t went in to explore since we were quite eager to see the London Eye.

Personally, I did not see the Singapore Flyer up close but they looked exactly alike! 0_o|||| I know that Singapore is the one who copied the idea but I didn’t expect it to be exactly the same. Nothing much about it that I could blog since everybody has seen the Singapore Flyer. Across the bridge, we saw Big Ben!!!! It was marvelous and there’s nothing I could use to describe it. I think the Big Ben is the iconic structure of London since everybody is telling me to see the Big Ben when we’re in London. Haven’t read my guide on what it is used for and stuff. Once I do, I prolly will update in the blog ( that is if I even remember it at all!! HAHAH)

After that, we head back to hostel since it’s getting late and everybody tells me that London is a dangerous place especially at night and we figured that we shall not take any risk if it is possible. Back in hostel, we just bathed and ate a super duper big burger for 2.70 pounds, it was very filling and I fear that I might get fat when I come back to Singapore. so please don’t be shocked if you can’t recognize me when I come back to Singapore.

Guess this is the last post for the months to come cause I'll not be bringing my lappie over because my backpack is freaking heavy and I really don't want to add more weight to it. HAIZ>>>>>>> I really hoped that I get to bring my lappie and I am still itching to do it. So yea lor.... I guess no updates from me like for 2 months unless I bother to go internet cafe and pay money to go online (which i prolly won't even consider)

Things I will miss:

I'm really glad that qi lu organised a farewell party for me at fish & co. it's kind of last minute but I enjoyed it alot (cause I laugh like madwoman) and hope that you guys like it too

I want to apologise to michelle that I didn't get to eat our last lunch today as time is really tight for me over here. You will forgive me de hor, lao gong?? I will miss you!

I'm just getting very worried about how things will go today and tomorrow. hope that it will turn out okay and if I manage to go online, I'm sure to write a blog entry. Stay Tune!

I guess more and more people are making their blogs private.... maybe it's because they want to be more open of what they want to say rather than being scared of being backstabbed or gossiped( like wrong spelling). Just that it's rather sad that I don't get to know how are they getting on.

One more week and I'll be in london at this time. So Super nervous about what is going to happen there and coincidentally, it's on 11th of Sept ( seriously Not very auspicious) Still tonnes of things to sort out and I haven't even started buying my stuff. Think I will need to get the things starting from tomorrow. It seems a little late now to go down to lavender to get my backpack. *Pondering Pondering* I am also thinking of how much clothes to bring over there. Guess I have to gauge for myself what will I need over there. Will come out a checklist by today so that I would know what to bring over there. Thinking of buying a 50-60L backpack since it's gonna be freaking cold over there lor. Also need to buy stupid camera. this trip is going make a big hole in my pocket lor!!!! ALAMAK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

FINALLY

Got my uk visa done today. It was a little tiring because I had a lot of last minute stuff that I needed to do and I'm really glad sasa drove me back home to get the necessary stuff. I was actually expecting a long queue at the office but surprisingly, we were next in line after the we got the queue number. Had to also take biometric data of us aka take picture and fingerprints of all.

600 dollars flew away and it also the start of a tormenting wait of one week. The person even told us that the result will be in the SEALED ENVELOPE that we are getting when we collect our passport next week. SO MYSTERIOUS MAN!!!!!

I reckon we would jump for joy if we get our visa approved and probably shout and hug something like that.

BUT YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! things are starting to settle in place finally. so happy. Although I lost 50 dollar because I took leave but I'm glad things are done. heehee.......

Been Super busy these days lor!!!!!
that's why there's no updates from me recently......

After working for john little for two weeks, I decided that it's time to jump to HR!!! haha..... so now I'm working as hr assistant at ttsh. Really quite busy since everybody is rushing for audit. I'm really fortunate to have a temp colleague who is really patient with me.
I think the worse part of job is touching those SUPER old files that had fungi growing on them. Damn gross to touch lor! TOTALLY!!!!
I also missed Half price starbucks on friday. Really quite wasted since it onle happens once a month!!!!

Went to old house to let potential tenants view the old flat and one of them really quite potential. Hope that I get them to stay so that I don't have to worry about this anymore!!! whahaha!!!!

Got back my tuition girl also. Another thing on my mind is to write to community centre whether they will be willing to sponsor a class for me to hold free tuition. just pondering whether I should do it though... I also managed to dig out my marianne chong book from ages ago!!! IT's the most powerful guidebook I had!!!! Going to used it again!!!

Watched batman - the dark knight. Joker guy (that died)'s acting was pretty good, two face guy also not bad. Just that batman's acting was okay. I guess he can't shine much since joker guy really did his part quite well. The overall plot is actually above my expectations. Poor thing that the joker guy died..... Guess the person replacing him will have quite abit of stress.....

Didn't manage to see the kitten that I wanted to adopt because it got adopted by another person. HAIZ~~~~~~~~~~~~ quite sad la..... but bo bians lor..... In search of another kitten!!
